The Traditions Of Men

Matthew 15:1-3 (KJV):

1. Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

2. Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

3. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Mark 7:8-9 (KJV):

8. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

1 Corinthians 2:5 (KJV): That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

1 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV): Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

Colossians 2:8 (KJV): Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
